Hunting a lion, on foot.
Excerpt from the book:
“FC's dream was to kill a male lion with a long thick mane.
Killing a female would just not be a trophy. Lions are
dangerous. FC gave his son Huxley a double-barrel 12-gauge
shotgun as backup protection. A lion had to be shot from
close. There is no hunting story in shooting a lion at 200-
yards, or from standing on the back of a truck like a rich
tourist-hunter. It is a masculinity thing. It is an alpha-male
thing. A need to be the dominant one. FC was not sure he
could even explain why he even wanted to shoot a lion. It had
to be a bragging thing, but FC was not a braggart.
Regardless, FC’s dream was close to fruition.”
