It chugged along in a low- pitched drone, as they all headed Northwards from the Fish River Canyon deeper into South West Africa. FC did not have any named destination in mind. He mainly wanted to see the Namib desert and shoot a Gemsbok and a lion. He was generally heading towards the town of Mariental. He chatted with whomever he met along the journey. The countryside was lonely and they barely saw 2 other humans in a day of driving. They might only have seen one other vehicle on the dirt roads, in a day. At nights they slept in the caravan, parked at the side of the road. The bushman preferred to sleep outside, and appreciated the blanket FC lent him. Sometimes they met a local bushman, usually on a farm, and then the passenger bushman, Khosi-Khoi would have a short fast-spoken chat with thousands of click sounds. The bushman-talk intrigued Huxley, but he understood nothing of what was being said.”  Read the book, I am The Rifle, and I kill” - available on Amazon (Click).
